Privacy policy

The short version

MD Resume is a static website. There is no account, no server-side database and no upload of your resume. The text you write and the versions you save live in your browser’s local storage on this device.

We show ads through Google AdSense to keep the site free. Ads are requested only after you explicitly allow them.

What stays in your browser

The editor stores the following values in localStorage under the mdresume: prefix: your current draft and its design settings, manual and automatic version snapshots, your theme choice, your interface language and your ad-consent decision.

• Resume content: mdresume:draft and mdresume:history.
• Preferences: mdresume:theme, mdresume:locale and mdresume:consent.
• Nothing in this list is transmitted to our servers — there is no API that could receive it.

You can delete everything at any time from your browser’s site-data settings, or from the History panel inside the editor. Download a Markdown or JSON backup first if you want a copy.

What our host may see

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamps to deliver pages, prevent abuse and measure reliability. This data never includes the contents of your resume, because that content never leaves your device.

Advertising and cookies

If you choose “Allow ads”, we load Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies or similar identifiers to measure and personalize advertising. If you decline, the AdSense script is not loaded and no advertising cookies are created by us.

• You can change your mind by clearing the mdresume:consent value in your browser storage; the banner will appear again.
• Google’s handling of advertising data is described in Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Our ads.txt file lists the authorized advertising sellers for this domain.

Analytics

We do not run third-party analytics, session recordings, heatmaps or tracking pixels. We do not build profiles of visitors. The only aggregate information available to us is the hosting provider’s standard, anonymized traffic reporting.

Your choices

• Decline ads and the site remains fully functional.
• Clear site data to remove your draft, history and preferences.
• Use private browsing if you do not want anything persisted between sessions.
• Block advertising domains in your browser or with an extension; the editor still works.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If the site’s data practices change — for example, if we add analytics — this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
